Ex Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello risks jail term as EFCC files 19 count charges against him in court

The embattled immediate former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has just been arraigned at the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja the nation’s capital for the hearing on alleged N110 billion fraud leveled against him.
FUSION CHRONICLES NIGERIA NEWSPAPER recalled that the ex governor was declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in April 2024.
Operatives of the EFCC arrested the ex governor in Abuja as 12:45 am on on Tuesday and was interrogated before he was taken to court on Wednesday morning. It was gathered that since filing the charges against the former governor, the commission has not been able to bring him to court for arraignment.
The EFCC had earlier filed 19 charges against Bello, along with his nephews Ali Bello, Dauda Suliman and Abdulsalam Hudu for money laundering offences amounting to over N80bn.
