FAAN Cracks Down on Unruly Passenger Behaviour at Nigerian Airports
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has expressed concern over the rising cases of unruly conduct by passengers at airports, warning that such behaviour will no longer be tolerated. In a statement signed by Mrs. Obiageli Orah, FAAN urged travellers to familiarise themselves with passengers’ rights, responsibilities, and airline obligations as outlined by the NCAA and FAAN bye-laws. The authority pledged to enforce strict sanctions under civil aviation laws, including prosecution of offenders. This follows a recent incident involving a disruptive passenger on Ibom Air at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed Airport. FAAN reaffirmed its commitment to safety, security, and comfort for all airport users, promising that violations will be met with the full weight of the law.
