FAAN organises media with capacity building workshop

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has organised a one-day workshop to enhance the knowledge of its public relations staff and journalists on the agency’s efforts to reposition Nigerian airports.

The workshop with the themed “Reporting Aviation and Airports”, was held at the Commonwealth Institute of Advanced and Professional Studies (CIAPS) in Lagos.

The aim of the workshop is to equip participants with the skills and tools necessary to effectively report on aviation and airport-related issues.

Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, FAAN’s Managing Director, represented by the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs. Obiageli Orah, while declaring the workshop open, noted the importance of education and continuous personal development.

Kuku described education as the driving force behind effective leadership, noting, “Education is the fuel that drives every leader… it propels every leader to the next level.”

Mike Omeri, Former Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), who also spoke at the event, stressed the value of continuous training alongside experience for optimal performance.

Mike Omeri applauded FAAN’s Managing Director for her transformative initiatives to modernize Nigerian airports.

He stated: “This workshop helps us understand FAAN’s ongoing efforts to reposition airports in Nigeria. It also highlights areas for improvement in reporting aviation and airports, as the country seeks to move forward from stagnation.”
