Falz Explains the Deep Message Behind His New Album ‘The Feast’: Why Africa Needs Unity
Rapper and actor Falz has opened up about the inspiration behind his latest album, The Feast, describing it as a call for unity and community across Africa.
Speaking during an interview on Naija FM, Falz explained that the central message of the project revolves around the importance of togetherness. He stressed that the “every man for himself” mentality, which is prevalent in many parts of the continent, continues to hold Africa back from achieving real progress.
According to him, both political leaders and everyday citizens tend to prioritize their personal interests over the common good — a mindset he believes must change if the continent is to move forward.
Falz didn’t hold back in his criticism of African leaders, stating that they often look out only for themselves and their families, while neglecting the broader population.

He encouraged listeners to reflect on the album’s underlying themes, even if its message isn’t as direct as his previous works.
“The message I’m pushing across is ‘community.’ I feel like we need a sense of community because the mentality that we have in this country and Africa is the ‘every man for himself’ one and it’s not good.”
“We constantly complain about how the government isn’t good. Why?”
“We need to think about the collective, every person and we need to be there for each other. The only way we can progress and reach our full potential as a continent is if we move together. That’s the general message of my album, even though it’s not literal. It’s not as intense and direct as some of my other ones. With this one, you need to sit and listen.”
