FCSC Clarifies Recruitment: Only 2,130 Vacancies Available, Not 10,000

The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has officially refuted widespread reports suggesting it has 10,000 job openings, labeling the information as both false and misleading.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, signed by Taiwo Hassan, the Commission’s Head of Press and Public Relations, the FCSC made it clear that only 2,130 vacancies were available under its most recent recruitment exercise, which concluded online on March 17, 2025.

“The attention of the Federal Civil Service Commission has been drawn to a publication circulating on conventional and online media, which stated that the Commission’s available vacancies were 10,000. This is not true,” the statement read.

The Commission urged the general public to disregard such misinformation and advised applicants to always consult official channels for accurate updates.

Additionally, the FCSC announced that the shortlisting process has been completed and those selected for the next stage—the Computer-Based Test (CBT)—will be informed through various media outlets and its official website: (http://www.fedcivilservice.gov.ng).

This clarification comes amid heightened anticipation among job seekers, as well as calls for transparency and efficiency in the civil service recruitment process.
