FCT Police Investigate Alleged Sexual Assault at Abuja Gym After Woman Introduced as Seyi Tinubu’s ‘Sister’

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has opened an investigation into an alleged sexual assault involving a young woman at the Evolve 360 Gym Complex in Apo, Abuja.

The alleged victim, identified as Ebunoluwa, was reportedly introduced to the police by Seyi Tinubu—son of President Bola Tinubu—who referred to her as his “younger sister.”

Sources within the police told security analyst Zagazola Makama that the suspect, Oscar Ilochi, allegedly assaulted the woman while she was alone in the gym’s basement area.

A police source, speaking to Journalist on Wednesday, confirmed Seyi Tinubu’s involvement in bringing the matter to the authorities.

“Yes, Seyi brought her last night and he claimed she is his younger sister by name Ebunoluwa—no surname was given—and that she is traumatised now, so the Divisional Police Officer can’t get more information for now until she’s stable,” the source said.

Though Seyi Tinubu introduced the woman as his sister, public records show that First Lady Remi Tinubu has three biological children with President Bola Tinubu: Zainab Abisola, Habibat and Olayinka Tinubu. Seyi is the President’s son from a previous relationship.

The suspect, Ilochi, is accused of approaching the victim inappropriately and attempting to force himself on her. Reports suggest that the incident has left the young woman emotionally distressed.

It was also revealed that Ilochi had previously been banned from the same gym following similar allegations, raising questions about the gym’s security measures and enforcement protocols.

Authorities are now reviewing CCTV footage from the gym as part of the ongoing investigation. Meanwhile, sources confirmed that the victim has undergone medical treatment and is recovering.

Attempts to reach the FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, were unsuccessful as calls went unanswered.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the Tinubu family nor Evolve 360 Gym has released an official statement regarding the incident.
