Federal Government Approves #750 Million Innovation Hub for Mopa College of Education in Kogi State.

The Federal Government has approved ₦750 million for the establishment of a modern Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub at the College of Education (Technical), Mopa, formerly located in Kabba. This initiative is part of the TETFund Innovation Development Programme, with the college being among 15 selected tertiary institutions nationwide to benefit from this funding.

The relocation of the college from Kabba to Mopa in 2023 facilitated the establishment of the new Kogi State University in Kabba, thereby expanding educational opportunities in Mopamuro Local Government Area.

The innovation hub in Mopa will feature facilities such as electronics laboratories, 3D printing labs, laser technology facilities, product design and development labs, robotics and coding workstations, and an artificial intelligence research unit. These facilities aim to enhance technical education, foster innovation, and develop entrepreneurial skills among students and young researchers in Okunland.

This development underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to advancing technical education and innovation across Nigeria.
