“Hookup or Not, Share Your Location — Edo Police Warns Amid Rising Dangers”
The spokesperson of the Edo State Police Command has issued a strong warning to young women across the state, urging them to prioritize their safety by informing someone about their whereabouts—especially when meeting strangers, including during hookups.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) emphasized that the rise in targeted attacks, abductions, and killings involving unsuspecting victims has become alarming. “Even if you’re going for a hookup, tell someone your location. There are killers everywhere,” the PPRO stated during a public safety awareness briefing.
This advisory comes amid growing concerns over cases where individuals, particularly young women, go missing after meeting with people they connected with online. The police urge everyone, especially youths, to remain vigilant, avoid secluded areas, and always trust their instincts.
The Edo State Command reaffirmed its commitment to community safety and encouraged the public to report any suspicious activity through the state emergency hotlines.
