Police Recover Headless Body of 14-Year-Old Almajiri in Jigawa, Launch Investigation
The Jigawa State Police Command has launched an investigation following the discovery of a headless corpse belonging to a teenage Almajiri in Jikas-Dabaja village, Gwaram Local Government Area.
SP Lawan Shiisu, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed the incident in a statement issued in Dutse, revealing that officers were alerted to the gruesome discovery around 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
“On Wednesday at about 2200hrs, the Divisional Police Headquarters Gwaram informed us about a corpse in Jikas-Dabaja village, Gwaram LGA.
A team of policemen rushed to the scene and on arrival, they discovered a headless corpse. The corpse also had his private parts removed.
The corpse was later identified as that of a 14-year-old Almajiri, who went missing two days earlier,” Shiisu said.
According to Shiisu, the victim’s family was contacted after medical personnel confirmed his death, and his remains were handed over for burial.
“Investigations are ongoing with a view to apprehending the perpetrators,” he added.

In a separate development, the police are also probing the death of 22-year-old Zainab Ibrahim in Hadejia Local Government Area. The young bride reportedly died from throat cuts just five weeks after her wedding.
Shiisu disclosed that the victim was rushed to Hadejia General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
“The investigation has since begun, and efforts are being stepped up to apprehend the perpetrators of the heinous act,” he stated.
The Jigawa State Police Command has urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to aid ongoing investigations.
