Final-Year Ondo Polytechnic Student Dies by Suicide

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the tragic death of Arobo Precious, a final-year student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State, who reportedly took his own life.

Precious, a Higher National Diploma (HND) II student, was found dead in a bush near his residence last week.

According to local sources, he had shared a video shortly before his death, suggesting emotional distress linked to a failed relationship.

The video, which has since gone viral, was captioned: “Eniayewu Opeyemi was the one who got me into this. People say there is still life out there, but to me, there is nothing anymore.”

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Mr. Olayinka Alayande, said the case was reported around 10:00 p.m. on June 18, 2025, at the B Division Police Station in Owo.

“Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer dispatched a team of detectives to the scene, where the lifeless body of a young man, approximately 27 years old, was discovered with a rope around his neck, indicating an apparent suicide,” Alayande stated.
