Fire Destroys Four-Bedroom Flat in Ibadan

A fire broke out in the early hours of Monday, engulfing a four-bedroom flat at No. 1 Happiness Close, Akufo Estate, Elebu area of Ibadan.
Mr. Yemi Akinyinka, General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, confirmed the incident on Monday.
He noted that the agency received a distress call at precisely 1:13 a.m. and promptly dispatched a team to the location.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the private residential building fully ablaze. Akinyinka reported, “The fire crew quickly took action and managed to prevent the flames from spreading to adjacent properties.”
He also mentioned that the team successfully rescued the family from the building, with no casualties reported.

The general manager attributed the fire’s cause to the overheating of a solar panel installed in the flat, which ignited nearby combustible materials.
