Fire Strikes Spare Parts Market In Ibadan, Destroys Property Worth Millions Of Naira

A fire outbreak has engulfed the Araromi spare parts market in Agodi-Gate, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, leaving the property worth millions of naira in ruins.

The blaze, which reportedly began around 2am on Saturday, has continued to rage, with firefighters from the Oyo State Fire Services still struggling to bring it under control.

The General Manager of Oyo State Fire Services, Akinyemi Akinyinka, confirmed the incident early Saturday morning, describing the situation as critical.

“We are facing a significant fire at Agodi-Gate. Please help us reach out to water tanker owners for assistance. We are still working to manage the situation,” he stated. According to Punch, the cause of the fire remains undetermined. Authorities are urging residents and tanker owners to aid in efforts to control the blaze.
