Firefighters Contain Massive Blaze at Jabi Lake Mall, Salvage Goods Worth ₦94 Billion
The Federal Fire Service (FFS) has successfully contained a massive fire outbreak that engulfed the Adidas Store at Jabi Lake Mall, Abuja, on Thursday.
According to the Service’s spokesperson, Deputy Controller Paul Abraham, the inferno, which raged for over six hours, was subdued through the combined efforts of several FFS units — FFS 75, FFS 88, and FFS 164 — alongside support from the Julius Berger Fire Service and other agencies.

The operation, led by Crew Commander S.F. Agbo, prevented the destruction of the multi-billion-naira facility. Goods worth approximately ₦94 billion were reportedly salvaged out of an estimated ₦100 billion stock.
Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Olumode Adeyemi Samuel, commended the officers for their bravery, describing their efforts as a testament to the Service’s preparedness and professionalism.
He also advised Nigerians and business owners to prioritize preventive safety measures, including electrical inspections and fire detection systems, to reduce future fire risks.
