Flights Delayed After Air Peace Aircraft Skids Off Port Harcourt Runway

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced possible flight disruptions and delays following a runway incident involving an Air Peace aircraft on Sunday morning at the Port Harcourt International Airport.
According to reports, Air Peace Flight P47190, which departed Lagos and landed in Port Harcourt at approximately 7:45 a.m., experienced a runway excursion upon landing.
The aircraft, with registration number 5N-BQQ, veered slightly off runway 03.
FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Obiageli Orah, confirmed that all 127 passengers aboard the aircraft were safely evacuated with no injuries recorded. “We are relieved to report there were no casualties,” she stated. “Passengers should, however, expect delays on departing flights from Port Harcourt as investigations and safety checks are ongoing.”
Air Peace spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, also confirmed the incident, emphasizing that the aircraft landed safely before skidding slightly off the runway. “All passengers disembarked calmly and safely. There was no damage to the aircraft, and no injuries were reported,” Efe noted.
She reiterated the airline’s dedication to safety, assuring the public of Air Peace’s “unflinching commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety in all operations.”
