Founder of the Okachi foundation strengthens education in Gambia

Founder of the Okachi Charity Foundation (OCF), Faith Morey, has recently led a delegation to Gambia to advance educational initiatives.

The team during the visit, engaged with key stakeholders, including the Minister of Education, the CEO of FAAB Foundation, and the leadership of Sarrekuda Lower Basic School in Banjul.

The Okachi Charity Foundation team, including Programs Manager Sainabou Conteh (FAAB Foundation) and OCF Secretary Oluwatosin, visited Sarrekuda Lower Basic School, a historic institution founded in 1984.

The visit resulted into a high-level discussion to strengthen educational policies and partnerships.

Teacher Training & Special Needs Education, Kano-Gambia School Partnership, Female Education Empowerment, Cultural Sensitivity in Education, Technology in Education, Improved School Attendance, Medical Support for Students amongst others were the key focus of the meeting.

OCF as part of its contribution, made a donation to support the Maestro Education Program.R

In addition, the founder of the Okachi foundation visit reinforced the shared mission of OCF, FAAB Foundation, and the Gambian Ministry of Education— to provide quality education, healthcare, and opportunities for every child, regardless of their background. The collaboration marks a significant step in ensuring sustainable educational reform and fostering brighter futures for students in underserved communities.
