Fire Breaks Out at Ifako Ijaiye General Hospital in Lagos, Fear of Trapped Patients
A fire erupted on Thursday at the General Hospital in Ifako Ijaiye, Lagos State, damaging parts of the three-storey medical facility.
A Facebook user, Modinat Melemuku, shared a video from the scene and made an urgent appeal for help.
“Happening now at General Hospital Ifako-Ijaiye, College Road. Please repost. Help is needed,” she wrote.
Concerns have been raised over the safety of patients, especially babies and nursing mothers, who may have been inside the building at the time of the incident. As of now, no casualties have been officially confirmed.

Firefighters were reported to have arrived at the scene to battle the blaze, though the extent of the damage remains unclear at this point.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and authorities are expected to begin an investigation once the flames are fully contained.
