
A tragic incident has occurred in the community of Okete Village in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State on Monday.
Suspected Fulani herdsmen were said to have invaded and murdered 2 women who had gone to harvest cashew nuts on their farm.
FCNN gathered that the victims;who were middle-aged women and mothers—left their various houses early in the morning to tend to their cashew harvest only to discover their lifeless bodies near the edge of the farm, showing signs of machete wounds and blunt force trauma.

The people Okete C described the killings as “ungoldly “.They urged the state government and police to take immediate action.
“This is not the first time our people have faced attacks, but this is one of the most heartbreaking. These were innocent women just trying to earn a living,” he said.
However,Okete youths are demanding justice and better protection from what they describe as “increasingly bold attacks” by herdsmen.
As the community mourns, many are left questioning the safety of their farmlands and the future of agricultural activity in the region
