Residents of Nsukka, Enugu State, have been left in shock and mourning following the alleged murder of a young woman, Chisom Ayogu, by her former boyfriend, identified as Ogbonna, popularly known as “Mourinho.”
The tragic incident reportedly occurred at Ogbonna’s residence on New Anglican Road in Nsukka Local Government Area. According to sources, Chisom had visited him to inform him of her upcoming wedding.
However, the visit allegedly turned violent after an argument broke out between the former lovers.
Neighbors, alarmed by the sounds of distress, rushed to the scene and found Chisom unconscious.
She was taken to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel confirmed her dead on arrival.
Ogbonna, a native of Igogoro in Igbo-Eze North LGA—coincidentally the same local government area as Chisom’s hometown of Amufie—was arrested by the police and is currently in custody for questioning.

While the Enugu State Police Command has yet to release an official statement, sources say an investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
