Vigilantes assault, strip female corps member in Anambra

A disturbing video has surfaced online showing members of the Operation Udo Ga-Achi, also known as the Agunechemba Vigilante Group, invading a corps members’ lodge in Anambra State and brutalising a female corps member, Jennifer Edema Elohor, along with some of her colleagues.

The footage, shared by the Haven 360 Foundation on Facebook on Monday, captured the moment Elohor was beaten and stripped naked by armed vigilantes.

According to the foundation, the corps members were subjected to severe assault, humiliation, and sexually degrading threats.

Despite presenting their NYSC identity cards, the vigilantes reportedly accused them of being internet fraudsters (“Yahoo boys”) and went ahead with the attack.

In its statement, the foundation strongly condemned the incident, describing it as a gross violation of the rights of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members.

It said: “On July 23, 2025, these state actors stormed the corps members’ lodge, accusing them of being ‘Yahoo people,’ even after they produced their NYSC identification cards and uniforms.

“The assault was particularly horrific in the case of Jennifer Edema Elohor, who was beaten, stripped naked, and left bleeding. The victims were also subjected to degrading threats and sexually abusive language.”
