Gov. Ododo Donates 120 Vehicles, 44 Motorcycles to Boost Kogi Security
In a bold move to strengthen grassroots security and combat crime across the state, Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has made a massive donation of 120 vehicles and 44 motorcycles to the state’s Vigilante Services.
The vehicles and motorcycles were distributed across the 21 local government areas of the state, aimed at enhancing rapid response and surveillance capabilities in both urban and rural communities.
Governor Ododo, during the official handover ceremony held in Lokoja, reiterated his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property. He noted that the gesture aligns with his security blueprint and his resolve to support community policing.
> “Security is the foundation of development. We are equipping our local security architecture to complement the efforts of the conventional security agencies,” the governor said.
The event was attended by key stakeholders, including traditional rulers, security chiefs, and top government officials, who lauded the initiative as timely and strategic, especially in the face of rising security concerns in the North Central region.
Observers believe this intervention will significantly bolster local intelligence gathering and deter criminal elements in the state.
