Government Shuts Down Lagos Markets
By: ABUTU CHUBIYOJO JOSIAH
The Lagos State Government has closed down 13 markets in the Mile 12 and Ketu areas due to ongoing violations of the state’s waste management laws.
These markets, including Erukan Market in Mile 12 and Oja Oba Market in Ketu, have been linked to improper waste disposal on roads and highways, which goes against the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law of 2017.
The closures, which took place on Thursday night, are part of efforts to improve public health and restore order in crowded areas.
