Governor Mutfwang Commends President Tinubu for Renaming University of Abuja to Yakubu Gowon University

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has expressed deep gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for renaming the University of Abuja to Yakubu Gowon University, Abuja. This renaming honors former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd), GCFR, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the nation’s development.

In his message of appreciation, Governor Mutfwang described the decision as a profound honor, not only to General Gowon but also to the people of Plateau State, where the elder statesman hails from. The Governor emphasized that General Gowon’s selfless service and exceptional leadership played a pivotal role in unifying the country, fostering peace, and promoting national cohesion during challenging times.
