Gunmen abduct two brothers from cassava farm in Kwara

On Wednesday night, gunmen abducted two brothers while they were working on their cassava farm in the Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The incident took place in the Bokungi Zambufu community in Lafiagi.

A source reported that approximately four heavily armed attackers invaded the farm, sporadically opened fire, and then kidnapped the victims, whose whereabouts remain unknown.

“No ransom demands have been made so far, but I observed the military with two suspects; it’s unclear if they are involved in the kidnapping,” a source stated.

Meanwhile, the Kwara State Government has advised residents of Ekiti, Ifelodun, Isin, Oke Ero, and Irepodun Local Government Areas to stay alert and minimize outdoor activities.

This development follows an increased security push in border communities between Kwara and Kogi states as authorities step up efforts to combat kidnapping activities.
