Gunmen abducts seven travellers in Ondo

Gunmen have abducted seven travellers along the Owo-Ipele axis of the Owo-Benin highway in Ondo State.

The attack took place over the weekend, causing concerns over rising insecurity in the area.

Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident, stating that officers have been deployed to rescue the victims from the gunmen who abducted the seven travellers

The abduction comes shortly after the killing of five farmers at Ajegunle Powerline in Akure North Local Government Area.
