Gunmen Wipe Out Family of Four in Midnight Attack
A horrifying tragedy struck the Isseke community in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State on Thursday as unidentified gunmen brutally murdered a family of four in their sleep.
The victims have been identified as Ichie Kennedy Igboanugo of Ekwuru Isseke, popularly known as Ichie Akuruoulo 1 of Isseke, his wife and two of their children.
Eyewitnesses say the attackers stormed the residence under the cover of night and slaughtered the family in cold blood, leaving their lifeless bodies sprawled in their rooms.
The motive behind the gruesome killing remains unknown.
A police source confirmed the incident and revealed that the remains of the victims have been deposited at the morgue.
“Preliminary information suggests the gunmen attacked the family unprovoked.
The bodies of the victims have been recovered and deposited at the morgue, and investigations are ongoing.
The command has expressed condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims and is working to apprehend the perpetrators.

The area has been reinforced by the joint security team, and further developments will be communicated as the investigations unfold,” the source revealed.
Security has since been tightened in the area as a joint task force continues to comb the surroundings for the attackers.
Residents remain in shock over the senseless killing and are calling on authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice and restore peace to the community.
