Hilda Baci Completes Record-Breaking Jollof Rice Challenge, Awaits Guinness World Records Verdict
Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has successfully completed her ambitious attempt to cook the world’s largest pot of jollof rice, marking another milestone in her culinary journey as she awaits confirmation from the Guinness World Records (GWR).
Congratulating her, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, hailed the feat as “another demonstration of Nigeria’s global excellence.”
Speaking through Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, Director-General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, Idris extended President Bola Tinubu’s best wishes, stressing that Baci’s achievement represents a collective national pride.
“The Federal Government lauds Hilda Baci’s extraordinary effort in putting Nigeria once again on the global map.
Her dedication to excellence and her unrelenting pursuit of greatness exemplify the Nigerian spirit that the world has come to appreciate,” Idris said.

He assured that the Federal Government would continue to support initiatives that showcase Nigerian talent and culture globally.
Thousands of fans, food enthusiasts, and media crews gathered at the venue, which transformed into a mini food festival with vendors, influencers, and live coverage. Baci announced that over 20,000 people registered to attend, as she cooked 250 bags of rice in a specially built 22,619-litre pot.
Known for her 2023 Guinness World Record in the longest cooking marathon (93 hours), Baci now seeks to etch her name again in history, with her latest attempt further cementing Nigeria’s jollof rice pride on the global stage.
