How 7 Passengers Died In Yobe-Maiduguri Highway Autocrash

Seven persons have been confirmed dead in a road crash on the Damaturu-Maiduguri Highway in Yobe State; others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

FCNN gathered that the incident left several other passengers with varying degrees of injuries on Wednesday.

The incident involved a Toyota Sienna bus and a Toyota Corolla. Eyewitnesses attributed the crash to both vehicles’ overspeeding.

The crash involved heading towards Maiduguri, when the vehicle lost control and somersaulted along the highway.

One of the residents, who rushed to the scene, helped evacuate victims to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel confirmed seven dead on arrival and many injuries.

FCNN reports that a frontline emergency responder with the Yobe Emergency Medical Ambulance Service (YEMABUS) said the victims were immediately evacuated.

Speaking to FCNN, the information office of YEMABUS, Mallam Ibrahim Waziri, said that seven people lost their lives, five adults and three children and others were injured.

“As I speak, the injured are currently receiving treatment, with some in critical condition.
