How Mob Killed Woman in Niger Over Alleged Blasphemy

A tragic incident occurred in Kasuwan Garba, Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State, where a woman identified as Ammaye was killed by a mob of youths over alleged blasphemous remarks against the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

FCNN gathered that the incident started in Igwama community where the deceased, who was said to be a food vendor, allegedly made statements considered offensive after an exchange with a young man. Her comments reportedly provoked anger among residents, leading to unrest.

The matter was later taken to the palace of the District Head of Kasuwan Garba, where she was again questioned. The traditional leader handed her over to security operatives for appropriate action. However, irate youths overpowered the security personnel and attacked the woman with stones, resulting in her death.

The Chairman of Mariga Local Government Area, Hon. Abbas Adamu Kasuwan Garba, confirmed the incident and disclosed that normalcy has since returned to the community.
