
A Nigerian pilgrim, Hajiya Zainab from Plateau State, has been hailed for returning a lost sum of $5,000 to its Russian owner in Saudi Arabia.
The incident happened on Tuesday at the Masjidul Haram in Makkah, where Hajiya Zainab discovered the money—equivalent to about ₦8,240,000 at an exchange rate of ₦1,648 per dollar.
The Plateau State Pilgrims Board, under the leadership of Hon. Daiyabu Dauda, along with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), confirmed the development.
Hon. Dauda praised her for showcasing good character, stating, “She showed honesty by returning the $5,000 she discovered at Masjidul Haram to its rightful owner. It’s a truly admirable gesture.
