The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has expressed his joy of the season’s wish to Nigerians as they ushered in the New Year, 2025.
This was released in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) by the FPRO, Muyiwa Adejobi.
Egbetokun while congratulating Nigerians, hailed the resilient and determined spirit of the citizens amid the economic challenges that was experienced in 2024.
He also emphasized on the importance of community engagement with the force and advocated for a people-centric philosophy of policing while calling on Nigerians to join hands with the police to ensure the safety of lives and property across the nation.
The statement read, “As we celebrate the New Year, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM., extends heartfelt felicitations to all Nigerians and residents, wishing them a joyous and prosperous New Year.
“In this season of joy, reflection, and hope, the IGP acknowledges the resilience and determination of the Nigerian people amid challenges faced in the past year.”
The IGP called on Nigerians to participate in the building of a peaceful nation by partnering with the police.
He enjoined citizens to report suspicious activities and be ever vigilant while maintaining open channels of communication with the police and other security agencies as he affirms that the police is committed to the protection of lives and property of all citizens.
