“Ilechukwu Eyes Strong NPFL Finish as Rangers Set Sights on Federation Cup Glory”

Rangers International head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has assured fans that their recent home defeat to Heartland FC was just a temporary setback, emphasizing that the team remains focused on finishing the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season on a high and going far in the President Federation Cup.

Ilechukwu made this known after Rangers defeated Bendel Insurance 1-0 in a tightly contested Round of 16 fixture of the President Federation Cup in Lagos.

The match-winning moment came from a penalty calmly converted by Godwin Obaje just before halftime, after he was fouled by Insurance goalkeeper Joshua Baba.

“It was a great game for both sides. I expected a tough game from our opponents, and they showed the stuff they are made of, but we dug deep to get the desired win and we give God all the glory,” Ilechukwu said.

“We keep fighting and working on our team going into the last matches of the NPFL and the remaining games of the Federation Cup. We are still positive going into the end of the season.”

Following their hard-earned win, Rangers have now progressed to the quarter-finals of the Federation Cup, where they will face Plateau United. The date and venue for the fixture will be announced by the competition organizers.

With renewed momentum, Ilechukwu is optimistic about Rangers’ chances in both league and cup competitions as the season nears its conclusion.
