Immigration arrest wanted Enugu native doctor

Operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) have arrested a popular native doctor, Levi Obieze, also known as “E de play, e de show,” who was on the run after being accused of ritual killings, abduction, and kidnapping.
According to a statement released Thursday by the NIS spokesperson, Akinsola Akinlabi, the arrest was confirmed by the Comptroller General of the NIS, Kemi Nandap.
Obieze was apprehended at the Gbaji checkpoint along the Badagry-Seme Road in Lagos State while attempting to flee the country on a motorcycle.
Obieze, a resident of Umuojor village in Isiagu, Enugu State, is accused of kidnapping a 13-year-old girl earlier in the week.
The incident reportedly took place as the girl was walking to the farm with her father. Two men on a motorcycle staged a breakdown to distract the father and then abducted the girl.
Following her disappearance, local vigilantes and police launched a search. Residents reported hearing screams from a bush near Obieze’s residence.
A search of his compound led to the rescue of the abducted girl and the shocking discovery of two decomposing bodies of pregnant women in separate soakaway pits.
Obieze allegedly tried to resist the search but was overpowered by the vigilantes.
A video circulating on social media shows community members parading him naked.
Well-known for flaunting wealth and spraying money at public gatherings, Obieze was reportedly on the run with his four wives before his capture.
His identity was confirmed through a National Identity Management Commission slip found on him, and he reportedly confessed during initial questioning.
