Imo Police Arrest Officers Engaging In Cult Activities , Launch Disciplinary Action

The Imo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of three of its officers who were captured in a viral video engaging in what has been described as unprofessional conduct.

According to a statement released on Saturday, October 18, 2025, by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Okoye Henry, the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, had earlier ordered a comprehensive investigation into the viral footage.

Following the directive, the officers were identified as Inspector Obinna Peter, Corporal Amaechi Augustine, and Corporal Ejikeme Victor. The trio have since been arrested and placed in detention pending the conclusion of ongoing investigations.

The police further disclosed that the officers are also being probed for alleged involvement in cult-related activities and other misconduct. An Orderly Room Trial  an internal disciplinary process within the Nigeria Police Force is set to commence on Monday.

In the statement, DSP Henry emphasized that the behavior exhibited in the viral video runs contrary to the core values and ethical standards of the Nigeria Police Force.

“The conduct displayed in the viral video is highly unprofessional and does not represent the discipline, ethics, and values of the Nigeria Police Force,” the statement read.

He added that the outcome of the disciplinary proceedings will be made public, assuring citizens of the Command’s commitment to professionalism, transparency, and accountability in its operations.
