No fewer than nine vigilantes have been slaughtered by bandits persons have by bandits in Sokoto State after abducting their wives.
FUSION CHRONICLES NIGERIA NEWSPAPER gathered that the terrorists stormed Dantudu Lajinge village in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area and slit the throat of nine persons, identified as members of the community’s local security outfit, known as vigilante.
The wives of the slain vigilantes were said to be abducted while the remains of their spouses were left in the pool of blood. Some villagers who escaped the attack stated that the attacker attacked on Monday
Bello Dan-Tudu, a resident of the village told newsmen that, “they targeted members of our vigilante group and slaughtered nine of them like ordinary rams.”
However, another resident who spoke to newsmen on the condition of anonymity stated that m the 10 persons were shot in the neck at close range, adding that the tenth person survived and is receiving medication at a hospital.
The Chairman of Sabon Birni Local Government Council, Ayuba Hamisu, has also confirmed the attack and fatalities.
“It happened while I was attending a function in Abuja; they killed nine of our people. I’ve just suspended further engagements here and heading back home right away to be with my people,” Hamisu said.
All efforts made by newsmen to speak with the spokesperson for the Sokoto State Police Command, Rufai Ahmad, proved abortive as he didn’t take his call or , reply to a text message sent to him for a confirmation as of the time this report was filled .
