Iyanya Offers N500,000 to Nurse Shamed for Defying Strike

Afrobeats star Iyanya has pledged to gift N500,000 to a nurse who was mocked by her colleagues for reporting to work despite an ongoing nationwide strike by healthcare workers.

A viral video captured the moment the nurse was ridiculed for showing up at her duty post, a scene that drew widespread attention online. Touched by her dedication, Iyanya took to social media to commend her commitment to saving lives, describing her as a true essential worker.

“Can someone help me find her? I want to give her 500k. She’s clearly not doing this job for the money, but for humanity,” he wrote.

When a social media user criticized his gesture, questioning why Nigerians reward what they called “bad behavior,” Iyanya defended the nurse’s actions.

“What’s your definition of bad behavior? A nurse chose not to join the strike so she could save lives, and you call that bad? She deserves recognition. The humiliation she faced was unjust,” Iyanya responded.

He has since urged the public to help locate the nurse so he can deliver the monetary gift personally.
