Just in: Kidnapped AYC youth leader regains freedom 12 days after abduction

The kidnapped National President of the Afenifere Youth Council, Eniola Olajuni, has been released by his abductors 12 days after he was kidnapped.

National Secretary of the Youths Council, Biodun Aderohunmu, reportedly confirmed his release to newsmen in a short WhatsApp message on Saturday.”He has been released”, the message read.

It could be recalled that Olajuni was abducted on Monday, February 17, 2025, on his way to Abuja for a meeting.

FCNN gathered that his abductors had demanded N100m and two tricycles as ransom for his release.

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, had on Wednesday ordered the deployment of the Intelligence Response Team to secure the safe release of the Afenifere Youth Leader after a video that made the round on social media showed Olajuni, who was at gun point, pleaded for Nigerians to come to his aid and raise funds for his release.
