Several lives have been lost in a devastating tanker explosion on Monday morning in Dan Magaji, Zaria, Kaduna State.
The incident, which happened at about 8:30 a.m., occurred near the Rochas Foundation School along the Kaduna–Kano expressway bypass, between Kwangila and Dan Magaji.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama, citing eyewitnesses via his X (formerly Twitter) account, said the crash involved two fuel-laden tankers and two passenger-loaded Golf cars. The collision sparked five powerful explosions, unleashing towering flames and dense black smoke that engulfed the busy highway.
“All the occupants of the cars died instantly, except one driver who survived with severe burns,” an eyewitness recounted.

Emergency responders and security agencies quickly arrived at the scene, sealing off the area and advising motorists to use alternative routes while rescue and recovery efforts continue.
