FAAN Hikes Tariffs, Bans Cash Payments at All Airports Nationwide
In a major policy shift, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced plans to increase tariffs for all service providers operating at its airports across the country. The new tariff structure, aimed at improving revenue generation and service delivery, is expected to affect operators in aviation support, retail, logistics, and ground handling sectors.
In addition to the tariff hike, FAAN has declared a nationwide ban on cash transactions within all Nigerian airports. According to the authority, the move is part of efforts to promote transparency, enhance financial accountability, and align with global best practices in aviation operations.
The new policy is scheduled to take effect in the coming weeks. FAAN urges all service providers and airport users to prepare for full compliance with the digital payment directive.
