NPF Advances Gender-Inclusive Policing with Leadership Training for Senior Female Officers

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), in collaboration with the G.S. Foundation and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting inclusive leadership and gender equality within the Force through a specialized Women Leadership Development Course.

For the past two weeks, senior female officers — ranging from Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) to Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) — have been engaged in an intensive leadership training programme aimed at enhancing their managerial competence, decision-making capacity, and professional impact.

According to Francis Fom’s report, the training forms part of the NPF’s broader reform agenda to strengthen institutional capacity and foster inclusivity across all ranks.

With such initiatives, the Nigeria Police Force continues to demonstrate its dedication to building a progressive, professional, and gender-balanced police system—empowering female officers to take on greater leadership roles and effectively address the evolving challenges of modern policing.
