Tinubu Congratulates Sulu-Gambari at 85

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, as he celebrates his 85th birthday on April 22.
The president’s message of goodwill was communicated through a statement released on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
In the statement, President Tinubu stated, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu congratulates the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on the occasion of his 85th birthday on April 22.”
The president recognized the Emir’s distinguished career, noting his previous roles as a Justice of the Court of Appeal and the pioneering Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice in the erstwhile Gongola State.
Having been called to the Bar in 1968, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari advanced to serve as a judge of the High Court of Borno State in 1977 before transitioning to the Court of Appeal in 1983.
The president commended the Emir for his decades of selfless service to the country, both in judicial and traditional capacities, highlighting his steadfast dedication to national development. “The President praises His Royal Highness, the Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers, for his unwavering commitment to nation-building, evidenced by his persistent advocacy for unity, peace, and progress,” the statement noted.
President Tinubu also acknowledged the Emir’s significant contributions to the education sector, particularly his role as Chancellor of both Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi.
“He thanks the Emir for his valuable services to Nigeria in these prestigious academic institutions at different times,” the statement added.
Additionally, the president extended warm greetings to the royal family, the Ilorin Emirate, and the residents of Kwara State.
“President Tinubu joins the Emir’s family, the Ilorin Emirate, and the people of Kwara State in celebrating this remarkable milestone.”

Concluding his message, the president offered prayers for the Emir’s continued health and well-being, stating, “He prays that God Almighty grants the Emir renewed strength and good health to enjoy many more peaceful and impactful years on the throne.”
