Kwara Governor Covers Medical Bills for 13 Injured Students in Sokoto Crash

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved the immediate release of funds to cover the medical expenses of 13 students of Kwara origin studying at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, who were injured in a recent road accident.

The students were involved in a motor accident along the Yauri-Sokoto Expressway in Kebbi State while returning to school. Tragically, the driver of their vehicle lost his life in the crash.

According to a statement from the Government House on Wednesday, eight of the students sustained varying degrees of bone fractures requiring emergency surgeries, while the remaining five are receiving other forms of medical care at the UDUS Teaching Hospital in Sokoto.

To facilitate their treatment, the governor has released the sum of N5,250,000 to cover the cost of scans, tests, surgeries, and other necessary medical procedures.

The governor also conveyed his best wishes for the students’ speedy recovery through his Special Assistant on Students Affairs, Wasiu Onidugbe.
