Lagos to Host 7th Africa Procurement and Supply Chain Summit

Lagos will host the 7th Africa Procurement and Supply Chain Summit on July 3 and 4, 2025, bringing together key stakeholders from across the continent to drive innovation and development in Africa’s procurement sector.

Themed “Driving Impact through Innovation: The Future of Procurement & Supply in Africa,” the summit will convene supply chain professionals, industry leaders, and regulators to explore forward-looking solutions that enhance procurement practices.

Dr. Clever Ruswa, President of the African Public Procurement Network (APPN) and Chief Executive Officer of the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ), will deliver the keynote address.

He is expected to outline practical strategies for improving procurement governance, emphasizing transparency, sustainability, and competitiveness.

Dr. Ruswa described the event as a “critical stage for elevating procurement standards,” noting that he will showcase how innovation and best practices can promote sustainable growth and unlock Africa’s economic potential.

The APPN, under Ruswa’s leadership, represents procurement bodies from 46 African countries and has been a vocal advocate for aligning procurement systems with global standards while addressing the continent’s unique economic needs.

At PRAZ, Ruswa has spearheaded reforms to enhance fairness and accountability in public procurement.

With a professional background spanning finance, infrastructure, and regulatory leadership, Ruswa has held senior roles including Group CEO at Mike Appel Organisation, COO at the Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe, General Manager at ZB Financial Holdings, and Head of Operations at Interfin Bank.

The summit will also feature insights from major industry players such as MTN, Ghana’s National Petroleum Authority, Volta River Authority, and Flour Mills of Nigeria. According to the organisers, the event will serve as a strategic platform for sharing ideas, benchmarking progress, and tackling emerging challenges in procurement and supply chain management across Africa.
