Lagos Youths Urged to Drive Economic Growth and Innovation at Leadership Conference

The Deputy Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Samuel Egube, has urged Nigerian youths to actively collaborate with the government in driving economic growth and creating social impact.

Egube made this call during the 6th Annual Youth Leadership Conference organized by Superior Performance Global Nationwide (SPGN), held at the Prof. Ade Ajayi Conference Hall, University of Lagos.

The 2025 edition of the leadership conference was themed RISE—Resilience, Innovation, Social Responsibility and Entrepreneurship.

“We believe in the potentials of our young people and are committed to providing platforms that foster innovation and leadership. Lagos State will continue to back programmes that give hope to our youths. You should not look at government with distrust but rather partner and engage with them at every given point in time,” Egube said.

He also highlighted the presence of 21 development centres across Lagos, including the Tech Hub, where the state supports youth empowerment through vouchers from the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) and other wealth creation initiatives.

Earlier in the event, SPGN Convener Mr. Segun Odufuwa noted that the conference has impacted thousands of young Nigerians and reshaped their mindset toward leadership and success.

He expressed gratitude to Union Bank for supporting the initiative and providing grants to participants in the business pitch competition under its Made in Naija initiative.

Also speaking, Ayokunumi Abraham, Head of SME Banking at Union Bank, reiterated the bank’s dedication to nurturing grassroots enterprise development and promoting homegrown innovation.
