LCDA empowers 100 women with N20,000

The supervisor, Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) in Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Lagos State, Princess Sesi Ogungbe-Yusuf, last weekend empowered more than 100 women and vulnerable people in the council with N20,000 each.
Princess Sesi while speaking shortly after the empowerment, said it was to enable them to improve on their petty businesses and celebrate the Yuletide in their homes.
The supervisor who is chairmanship aspirant in the LCDA in next year’s local government election, said she was committed to empowering women and promoting gender equality in Badagry communities.
Adding that the programme was designed to support women, who were struggling to make ends meet.
Mr Joseph Gbenu, Chairman, Badagry West LCDA, urged the beneficiaries to make good use the grant and assured the people of the council that he would organise another cash empowerment early next year, which many residents of the council would benefit from.
