NDLEA Storms Olamaboro, Uproots 7 Hectares of Cannabis, Seizes 369kg Drugs

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has destroyed seven hectares of cannabis farms in Elugu-Egugu forest, Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State.

NDLEA’s Kogi Commander, Umar Yahuza, confirmed that suspects were arrested during the raid, which was based on credible intelligence from citizens.

According to the command’s Head of Media and Advocacy, Dahiru Abdulsalam, the August operations also intercepted over 369 kilograms of assorted hard drugs, including cannabis sativa and psychotropic substances, being trafficked through the state.

“These successes were achieved through intelligence-led operations under the leadership of Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba-Marwa (rtd),” Abdulsalam said.

He further explained that beyond enforcement, the command has intensified sensitisation campaigns in schools, markets, motor parks, and places of worship in partnership with NGOs to curb drug abuse and trafficking
