Building Collapse Claims 10 lives In Ibadan

Not fewer than ten people have lost their lives in a building collapse at Jegede, Olunloyo area of Ibadan, in Ona Ara Local Government Area on Thursday morning.

FCNN learnt that the building collapsed around 2am.

Rev. Akinyemi Akinyinka, the General Manager, Oyo State Fire Service confirmed the incident, saying the agency received a disturbing call from people in the neighborhood at 2am on Thursday morning.

Akinyinka added that seven people were rescued alive from the debris of the collapsed building.

“May I inform you that Oyo State Fire Service received a distress call around 2 am this morning from Jegede, Olunloyo area of Ibadan about a building collapse. Ten bodies have been recovered from the debris of the collapsed building, while seven persons were rescued alive,” he said.

He added that rescue operation is still ongoing.
