Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing His Mother in Benue

The Benue State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Torngusha Usuwe for allegedly killing his mother during a domestic dispute in Gungul Village, Ukum Local Government Area.
According to counter-insurgency expert Makama Zagazola, who disclosed the incident on X.com on Thursday, the tragic event occurred on Tuesday at approximately 2:30 p.m.
Usuwe allegedly struck his mother on the left jaw with a stick, resulting in a severe fracture.
“The victim began bleeding from her mouth and ear and was rushed to Zege Nyion Clinic in Gungul for emergency treatment but was pronounced dead around 8:00 p.m. the same day,” Zagazola stated.
He added that following a report by a relative, Terwase Usuwe, police detectives were dispatched to the scene.
The authorities documented the incident, took photographs, and transported the body to the Gungul Memory Integrated Morgue for an autopsy.
Torngusha Usuwe is currently in police custody as investigations continue.

Efforts to reach the Benue State Police spokesperson, DSP Udeme Edet, were unsuccessful, as calls went unanswered and a text message had not been replied to at the time of filing this report.
