Man Dies After Girlfriend Stabs Him in Dispute Over Food Delay

The Nigerian Police Force has arrested a woman in connection with the stabbing death of her boyfriend, Balogun Damilola, known as Dami Richie, following a disagreement over his delayed return from a food errand.

The tragic details of the incident were shared by the victim’s sister, @nevaeh_nathanandmom, on TikTok. She revealed that the conflict arose after Dami went out to buy food for himself, his girlfriend, and a friend.

Upon his return, his girlfriend questioned the lengthy delay. Dami explained that he had stopped to deliver food to a friend first, which escalated into a heated argument.

Feeling distressed, Dami reportedly reached out to his friend to ask for a ride home. Initially, the friend informed him that he had no fuel, leading Dami to consider taking a bus instead.

However, once the friend managed to find fuel, he offered to pick Dami up. Before the friend could arrive, he received a troubling call from his wife, who relayed that Dami’s girlfriend had called to report that Dami was unresponsive.

Upon arrival at the estate, the friend discovered that a neighbor was already transporting Dami to the hospital.

They transferred him into the friend’s vehicle and rushed him to the hospital, but Dami was pronounced dead on arrival.

The victim’s sister expressed her heartbreak in a video, stating, “He was planning to see my mom tomorrow. These are the groceries he bought. God, how do I cope with this painful loss? She cleaned everything and made it seem like nothing happened.”

The police have taken the girlfriend into custody, and an investigation is currently underway.

The case has garnered significant attention online, sparking calls for justice for Dami Richie and raising questions about the events leading up to his tragic death.
