Man Kills Vigilante in Emir of Kano’s Entourage

A 20-year-old suspect, Usman Sagiru, has been arrested in connection with an attack on Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II’s entourage in Kano, Nigeria.

The attack, which occurred during Eid prayers, resulted in the death of a vigilante member and injuries to another.The suspect is accused of stabbing Surajo Rabiu, who later died. Aminu Suleman, also a vigilante, was injured.

Police have also summoned Shamakin Kano, Alhaji Wada Isyaku, for questioning in relation to the incident. The incident follows a police ban on Durbar (ceremonies). The Kano State Police Command is urging calm and cooperation from citizens to maintain security in the state. They have reiterated their zero tolerance policy for thuggery and any actions disrupting public order.
