Man Remanded in Prison for Allegedly Killing Nephew Over Inheritance in Delta

A High Court in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State has ordered the detention of a man identified as Austin at the Nigerian Correctional Centre in Okere for allegedly murdering his nephew in a dispute over inheritance.

The Delta State Police Command arraigned the suspect in court on Tuesday.

Reports indicate that on January 23, 2025, the accused allegedly took the life of his late sister’s only son due to a conflict over the properties she left behind.

Human rights advocate, Comrade Israel Joe, was present in court alongside the deceased’s pregnant wife, stressing the need for justice to be served in the case.
